midi commands not used by mackie protocol?
I want to send 3 midi messages to the Mackie input port of a script button.
The 3 midi messages should set 3 variables to change to on or off state.
Obviously, these midi messages should not change any parameter of the DAW.
What is your recommendation?
May I use some channel that Mackie protocol never uses? Program Change? Channel pressure? Sysex?
Thanks!

You should use a channel other than 1, and avoid Pitch Bend.
With those two rules, you stay clear of all Mackie commands and can do whatever you like.
