Selection of tracks in Cubase
I am controlling Cubase 12 with Mackie Control
My Cubase profile has 2 pages with this configuration:
- page 1 has 4 buttons for selecting tracks 1,2,3,4 of the bank (showing track names)
- page 2 has 4 buttons for selecting tracks 5,6,7,8 of the bank (showing track names)
When I select the tracks in Cubase, the tracks are also selected in my SD+.
The problem I am experiencing is that SD+ don't change of page or bank automatically if I select a track in Cubase that don't correspond to the tracks that my SD+ is showing.
Let's take this scenario:
- There are 10 tracks in Cubase
- SD+ is showing the Cubase profile page 1
- SD+ is showing the track names of bank 1
Steps to reproduce my "page problem" in this scenario:
- I select the track 1 in Cubase -> SD+ shows "SELECTED" in the button 1
- I press the 2nd button of SD+ -> SD+ shows "SELECTED" in the button 2 + track 2 is selected in Cubase
- I select the track 5 in Cubase -> SD+ don't show any selected track because SD+ don't change automatically to page 2 and it remains in page 1
- I switch to page 2 in SD+ -> the track is correctly selected
Steps to reproduce my "bank problem" in the same scenario:
- I select the track 1 in Cubase -> SD+ shows "SELECTED" in the button 1
- I select the track 9 in Cubase -> SD+ don't show any selected track because SD+ don't change automatically to bank 2 and it remains in page 1 showing the tracks of bank 1
- I switch to bank 2 -> the track is correctly selected
- - -
The other problem I am experiencing is that I can not select more than 1 track in Cubase using this configuration in SD+.
TheĀ option "Deselect the currently selected channel" is not checked, but if I press 2 buttons at the same time, only 1 track is selected.
Is this the expected behaviour, or do I miss something in the configuration?

Re: Selection of tracks in Cubase
This is all expected behavior.
"Page problem": Plugins are not allowed to initiate a page switch, so the plugin cannot do anything if you select a track handled on another page.
"Bank problem": That's the way the Mackie Control protocol works. If you select a track outside the eight tracks currently covered by the Mackie protocol, the track is "unknown".
"Multiple track selection": When you press a Stream Deck (Mackie) button, the plugin sends a Mackie command; how the daw interprets that command is up to the daw. Some daws allow multiple track selections, so the "Deselect the currently selected channel" option exists if you don't want that. Other daws (like Cubase) don't.
