Fader display selection in a multi midicontrol for a dial
Hello,
[using a streamdeck +]
When creating a multi midi for a dial and selecting "Fader", the "Fader display" is initialized with something like this :
C:\Users\myname\AppData\Roaming\Elgato\StreamDeck\Plugins\se.trevligaspel.midi.sdPlugin\Images\FaderSets\Dials\SFX\SFX Fader Green 1.xml (Not found)
In the Fader Display combo box I cannot access the other options (Built-in, Linear or DB)
Using the adjacent "Add design" button and chosing another file from the same directory as above initializes the design bit it still indicates "Not found".
Using a vpot behaves differently and using a generic midi (not a multi midi) behaves differently.
Have a good day.

Oh my.
I must have broken the design logic for the dials when I added it for the Generic Midi button. It's fantastic that you found that before I released the plugin! Phew.

Thanks,
I ran a quick test and :
Is it normal ?
I ran a quick test and :
- the other options (Built-in, Linear or DB) are no longer available
- the mention "Not found" is still present after a design is (properly) added
Is it normal ?

Re: Fader display selection in a multi midicontrol for a dial
"Built-in", "Linear" and "dB" are group headers that are only visible when there is a reason for it.
Did you add a design made for the dial? Design files for buttons and dials differ, and if you add a button design to a dial, you get the result you describe. It should be handled better, but that will probably wait until the next update.
- "Linear" and "dB" are only used for the Generic Midi button.
- ""Built-in" is only shown if there are custom designs, in which case the "Custom" group header is also used.

Re: Fader display selection in a multi midicontrol for a dial
Good Morning,
In this particular case i did not use a custom design, just selected "Fader" and the combo box is always initialized with what i think is the the latest chosen value (in this case i picked it from the standard SFX folder). This what I have in the Combo Box, please note the "not found" mention.
This does not happens if we are not inside a multi and use the standard generic midi object then we get what i believe is the correct initialization.

This worries me since I'm about to publish the 3.11 update and cannot reproduce your issue.
The image from your combo box is too low-resolution, so I can't see what it says.
Please install this version, which is the final version prepared for release, and see if you are still having the same issue.

Re: Fader display selection in a multi midicontrol for a dial
Well The image below should be of a better resolution :
Indeed in a multi it seems that when I have chosen a custom design, the combo box ends up with only one line : path_to_custom_design (Not found) and I cannot revert to standard designs.
Again this bug does not happen if I'm not in a multi.
If i'm not in a multi I can select a custom design and If I want to change things, the combo box exhibits the correct options : List of standard design (Header=Builtin) + history of custom designs (Header=Custom).
I can easily reproduce here. Let me know if you need additional information.

Re: Fader display selection in a multi midicontrol for a dial
Ok, thanks. For some reason, I didn't understand that it was the mult that had the problem. It should be fixed with this version.
I have kept the 3.11 version number, so you need to uninstall the plugin before installing this "new" version 3.11

Re: Fader display selection in a multi midicontrol for a dial
ok, the combo box behaves correctly now.
I think I have found another issue. If I copy one of the standard designs (ex. SFX Fader Cubase.xml) elsewhere an select it as a custom design, the graphics do not show.
I don't know if its intended. Let me know if you need further information.

Re: Fader display selection in a multi midicontrol for a dial
It works when I copy the design.
I suspect you only copied the xml file, which doesn't work. The xml file and the image files must be stored in the same folder, so you must include the image files in the copy.
