Mackie daw functions assignment

What do they do?
Like "assignment: plug-ins"
Nothing seems to happen when I use it.
Sorry if the answer is obvious and I'm just missing it.

Hi,

From the Mackie Control documentation:

When these buttons are pressed, the mode display, plus the LED associated with each button, will update to reflect the currently selected assignment mode. The LCD will also update to display the parameters relevant to the selected assignment. These parameters are, of course, assigned to the corresponding V-Pots.

The document you referenced seems to be for a Mackie hardware controller. I did check out the link to the owners manual, so I have a better idea of what terms like"Mode display" and "assignment mode" mean. But it seems like not everything applies to the stream deck Version of Mackie protocol. Maybe it will become clearer as I use it. I'm learning by trial and error.
I've read your documentation, the part about Mackie Control, and I find it pretty comprehensive, but I do have questions. Any other helpful resources would be most appreciated.

Great plug-in. It's going to vastly improve my workflow.

Not all aspects of the Mackie Control protocol are implemented in the plugin. The protocol is not published; the implementation I have done is based on documents created by reversed engineering made by others. I have focused on the most used functions and tried to cover as wide a range of functions as possible based on available documents and my understanding of the protocol.
