No Midi Port

Hi all,

I've just bought the StreamDeck and i'd love to control Sunlite Suite with it via Midi.

I've configured LooMIDI :



And Sunlite :



But the Midi Port doesn't appear in my options :


What did i missed ?

It looks as if the plugin doesn't start at all. There should be something in those dropdown fields even if it for some reason doesn't detect your ports.

Let's start with a look at the log file. If the file "%appdata%\Elgato\StreamDeck\Plugins\se.trevligaspel.midi.sdPlugin\pluginlog.txt" exists, please copy the contents and post it here. (if I'm correct that the plugin doesn't start, there is no log file created...)

Yes u'r right. There's no log file created

You're one step too high in the folder hierarchy.

Along with the listed folders, there should be a "se.trevligaspel.midi.sdPlugin" folder (where the plugin is installed), and the log file should be in that folder.



If your image shows all folders that are present in the StreamDeck\Plugins folder, the Midi plugin isn't correctly installed!

The image shows all the folders in my plugin folder.
One step back there's no more.

I've just tried to unisntall and install the plugin, same result...

We're missing something.

If there is no "se.trevligaspel.midi.sdPlugin" folder in the plugins folder, the plugin simply isn't installed. After the reinstall, could you please check if the folder exists?



...and if so, check for the existence of the "pluginlog.txt" file in that folder.

Also, the Strem Deck log file may show some interesting information, could you please attach the following file (you may need to zip it):

i've tried to update the Deck and then uninstall and reinstall the plugin. I can't find the folder

And can't find the log folder...

With the Cubase plugin, i can choose the MidiLOOP signal i've created

I don't know where to go from here...

In some way, we are not talking about the same location on your hard drive.

You showed an image from your plugin folder where neither the Midi nor the Cubase plugin was present, and you said that the image showed all the plugins in the folder...and yet you can run the Cubase plugin!? And you cannot find the Midi plugin folder, nor the Stream Deck log folder. So you must look somewhere else than where Stream Deck stores its files (for your user account).

What is the full path to the plugin folder that your image showed?

It should be "C:\Users\_YourUserName_\AppData\Roaming\Elgato\StreamDeck\Plugins"

This is very strange, the plugin fails because it cannot find your Documents folder!? I didn't think it was possible to have a Windows system without a Documents folder.

It would be great if you could enable extended logging and send the log file so I get some more details about the situation. Unfortunately, you can't enable extended logging in the Stream Deck editor (since the plugin doesn't work) so you need to do it this way:

1. In the folder where you found the log file, please create an empty text file with the name "EnableLogging.txt".
   
2. Quit Stream Deck.
   
3. Restart Stream Deck.
   
4. Get the log file again and send it (it will be larger this time, so it may be better to zip it and attach it to the post, but do what you find easiest)

Finally it works !
In fact I had a problem with the path to "My Document" when i solved it and reinstalled STreanDeck and the plugin everything went back !

And I've learned something on the way as well. I have added some error checking to the next release, so the plugin doesn't crash if the Documents folder is missing.

Hi there! I'm having the same issue as above, however, on Mac on latest software, OS & Plugin. Can you help? 

It was all working fine but my mac went into repair and got wiped to I've had to reset everything up (Didnt have a back up) Manually and none of the drop down menus within the midi buttons work at all.

i am having the same issue as chunky301.
@admin we e-mailed a few days ago. everything was ok in my log.
the Elgato stream deck app is also listed in "files and folders" and "Full disk access". it has a blue checkmark at "full disk access" and is greyed out at "files and folders".
i am starting to think it is some kind of Ventura access bug.

can't even find the plug-in folder the normal way. I have to shift-command-g to even open it.

omg i hate Ventura already

we started to use our old Macs, everything works flawless there.

ill be watching this thread. love the plugin and want it back like mad!

I have Ventura on my Mac and have no problems, so it's not a generic Ventura issue.

If you have M1/M2 CPUs, please verify that you have Rosetta installed; the plugin requires Rosetta.

It would be interesting if someone with these problems could download and test the 3.4 beta version. It handles some things slightly differently, so it would be interesting to know if it makes any difference.

hi! i installed rosetta. it still did not work at first. needed to reinstall streamdeck and the plug-in.
works like a charm again!
